With a background in dance and production, Jen James is able to understand the artistic and the practical when it comes to selecting and providing the perfect entertainment options for all types of events. Jen grew up in Arizona, graduated from Washington University in St. Louis and earned performance, choreography and event planning credentials in New York City. As a performer, Jen has been featured on stage and in films, video and productions across the spectrum of entertainment. From dancing backup for major recording artists to hanging over the heads of thousands as an aerialist, Jen has always been recognized for her professionalism and attention to detail. Her event planning and production skills were honed while working for various event planners and entertainment companies in the NYC metro area. She has since produced events at major venues such as Cipriani, Pier 60, and Capitale to name a few.
Jen is one of the founding members and currently acting as executive director for Aera Dance Foundation, a Brooklyn based non-profit aerial dance company. Their groundbreaking work combining contemporary dance with aerial apparatus such as silks, hoops and poles has been featured worldwide.
Jen helped choreograph and produce the Off Broadway show Crazy Sexy Disco, which has also been featured at ResortsCasino, and Rhode Island Casino.
Jen’s involvement in the fitness and aerial community has led her to create “Red Velvet“, a group fitness-friendly aerial dance class for Crunch Gyms and other aerial training programs for the recreational and fitness community. Jen’s choreography can be seen on aerialists and dancers across the world.
